From the roots of Hawaii to all across the world, paddleboarding has become one of the most popular water sports.

Some people have asked us ‘are there any benefits?’ and as a matter of fact, stand-up paddleboarding is a full-body workout and not to mention great fun!

If you’re looking for more exotic locations in Europe to try out this sport, look no further; we’ve got you!

Slovenia

You know when you see those beautiful, picturesque photos of lakes and the scenery almost looks too good to be true? Well, Slovenia is living proof that places like this exist and what better thing to do than to go paddleboarding somewhere like this?

Lake Bled in Slovenia is a prime example; the most peaceful Slovenian location that’s also full of nature walks and waterfalls if you’re into exploring.

Eibsee Lake in Bavaria, Germany

The Eibsee Lake is located right next to the highest mountain in Germany; Zugspitze, so this is perfect for paddleboarding with a view.

Especially while the climate isn’t particularly warm, Eibsee Lake is great for stand-up paddleboarding in the Winter (just make sure you’ve got your wetsuit at the ready)!

Lisbon, Portugal

Known as the paddleboarding capital of Europe, Lisbon Coast is just a 2-3 hour flight away from the UK.

With clear waters and a fairly warm climate all year round, this really is a paddle boarder’s paradise with lots to explore in the city too.

Balearic Islands, Spain

Spain kind of speaks for itself with around 566 blue flag beaches in total – that’s 566 different Spanish paddleboarding locations!

Not only is this a stunning, naturistic paddleboarding location but you can also paddle nearby Spanish cities like Sevilla to take in some of Spain’s urban scenes.

Causeway Coast, Northern Ireland

The Giant Causeway’s Basalt Columns is a view for the books, however, this may be an experience to save for the Summer.

Ballygally Castle is one of the many views and landmarks you’ll come across on your venture; a beautiful 17th-century castle.
