The waves at South Devon and North Devon are enjoyed by a lot of surfers. Croyde, Woolacombe and Saunton are well-known surfing beaches but there are lots of beaches that are perfect for beginners. There are numerous different surf schools and instructors to introduce you into the world of surfing. There is also plenty of places to hire equipment if you do not have your own.

There is a number of fabulous waterways in Devon. Whether you try Sailing in Torquay, Dartmouth or Plymouth, or canoeing the coves of Brixham or kayaking on Dartmoor. There is also lots of regattas which are an important part of Devon’s culture.

If you enjoy diving, snorkelling or you want to try a spot of coasteering, there is a lot of places in Devon for you to include. There is a whole underwater world of wrecks, reefs and wildlife just waiting to be explored. There is also plenty of specialist schools and instructors happy to take you out if you don’t feel quite ready enough to go alone.
